Speaker: Hanna Huber (PRIP), Sebastian Kirchner (PRIP)
This project was initialized by the Artist Elisabeth Weissensteiner and is part of her current art project: An installation in public space displaying a video animation on screen. While the basic animation is running continuously, visitors faces are detected and blended with current video frames.
The program is written in C++ and uses the open source computer vision library OpenCV. It is split into two parts: Face detection and animation. The rst part is realized by Sebastian Kirchner, the second by Hanna Huber. The interface between both components has been developed together. The video animation running in the background was created by Elisabeth Weissensteiner and provided as .avi le. All specifications concerning the results were de ned by Elisabeth Weissensteiner. Methodology and hardware speci cations were developed in discussion with the PRIP group.
Although the installation was to be located at the museum of natural history originally, the designated location became uncertain while the development was in progress. Thus, the resulting program has to be as independent from exterior conditions (lighting, possible background, etc) as possible.
Final results will be presented at the Beginner's Day at the beginning of the winter semester 2015/2016.
