Description
Our institute is part of a research project on simulation of green facades. The task of this student project is to encode the growth and life cycle of Bergenia and Geranium plants into our plant simulation system. It has been designed for trees, so adjustments will be needed for small plants. Also blooming and fruits production need to be implemented as new modules.
Tasks
- Study the growth of Bergenia and Geranium
- Deduce growth parameters with respect to light and water availability
- Implement blooming and fruits production (computation)
- Implement blooming and fruits production (visualization)
Requirements
- Knowledge of English language (source code comments and final report should be in English)
- Knowledge of discrete simulations and geometry data structures
- Solid knowledge of C# necessary
- Knowledge of WebGL/Three.js necessary
- Passion for botany advantageous
Environment
The project should be implemented as part of our plant simulation system which is a combination of C# backend and Preact/Threejs frontend.
