Best Paper Award at EuroVA 2024

For the paper cVIL: Class-Centric Visual Interactive Labeling, our master student Matthias Matt and his co-authors Matthias Zeppelzauer (FH St.Pölten) and Manuela Waldner received the best paper award at the 14th international EuroVis Workshop on Visual Analytics 2024. EuroVA is co-located with EuroVis conference and took place in Odense, Denmark, this year.

In the paper, a class-centric approach for visual interactive labeling to support human annotation of large and complex data sets is proposed. Simulated experiments and a user study show the potential of the novel labeling interface compared to active learning and traditional instance-based visual interactive labeling based on 2D scatterplots.
